I have always enjoyed problem solving and puzzles. Give me an episode of NCIS or Criminal Minds and my phone fully charged for a game of sudoku and I am in the zone.
I think that puzzle addiction is the primary reason why I enjoy my career in marketing research so much. Strong research design is all about solving for an impactful end-result while factoring in not just research best practices but also timing, budget, and often technical constraints. Most importantly, it drives what I consider one of my distinguishing skills - the ability to smoothly maneuver through the inevitable bumps along the way as the project unfolds.
When I am not working, I spend as much time with my teenage daughter as I can. With college just around the corner, I grab every second I can with her. Between family and friends who are like family, I have very little spare time. When I find some, I tend to use it for reading, planning a weekend road trip, or binge watching Netflix.
